Food As Religon
talking about any particular religious body. I am not talking about a
belief system that we call Religion. We know that depending upon were you
were born will determine what religious system you have. Now the purpose of
this article is not to go into detail why we believe what we believe, but
rather how our body and mind require things to comfort us. http://www.overweightchild.org
All that we do in life is to make ourselves feel better. Now I did not say,
that all that we do make us fee better, but rather all that we do is an
attempt to make us feel better. We listen to music or a particular type of
music why? Music makes us feel good. We go to movies because for one short
moment we leave reality and enter into another world. Yes, like certain
sports or types of games and other things because they make us feel good.
That is were food comes in we eat food not only because we are hungry but to
make us feel good. You may say that is not true, but think of it for a
moment, you put a DVD in to watch and shortly you go and grab a bag of chips.
This act of sitting in front of the TV with food is more out of a habit then
hungar. So now you you can see the connection. Religion can be a form of
comfort as many other things in life. Food can be a form of comfort.
Religion as Food. Comfort Food to make us feel better, but the problem is
what we think is comfort many times turn out to be discomfort. What we put
into our bodies does have an effect on how we feel. Some things have
immediate results and others take longer, but still have effects. Now we can
train our selves to find comfort in things. We are creatures of habit so all
we need to do is change that habit, change the way we do things and we will
soon discover we will see a change in our lives. Now I did not say change
was easy, but I said change makes all the difference in our lives. The next
time you sit infront of that TV grab an apple or some other healthy food.
Even better go for a walk with you mate or some one who is special to you.
You are not only giving your body what it needs, but feeding your mind as
well. Just do not do these things once, but make them habits, and you will
soon discover that you are looking better, and feeling better.
You see, our bodies are a form of engine if you put in the wrong type of
fuel in and it is not going to work properly. Let the body of that engine
being idle over an long period of time and you will discover some parts are
not working properly. A Car that sits in a driveway for a long time brakes my
seize. Our bodies need healthy fuel to work properly and if our bodies are
not working properly our minds are not working at its best. Unhealthy foods
and lack of exercise effect our moods and how we feel about life and about
our self. So you see, Food is like a Religion, the wrong kind of religion
will have us do the wrong things. A suicide bomber is an example of how a
bad belief can be deadly to oneself, and unhealthy food and lack of excerise
is deadly to our bodies, minds and effects those around us.
The next time you consider about your comfort think about what you are eating
and what you are doing, and you will soon discover life is looking brighter.
